As we gear up to the release of the DMEC 2021 calendar in just a few days, it was once again time for the virtual drift superstars to take center stage for Round 2 of the 2021 Drift Masters Virtual Championship. As we build to Round 5 and the grand finale of the DMVC season, another 32 drivers do battle to once and for all, crown the greatest virtual drifter of all time.

Following on from the insane season opener only weeks ago in Riga, Latvia, Round 2 took drivers, judges, and spectators virtually to Ottawa Motorsports Park circuit, a high speed, high reward track that would push drivers door on door from the offset and certainly did not disappoint.

With a crazy prize pool of €2,000 and the chance to drive a real-life DMEC drift car with Piotr Więcek up for grabs, drivers come into DMVC ready to give it their all to claim the top spot. The fast-flowing layout of Ottawa Motorsports Park circuit really gave drivers a chance to go door to door throughout the entire layout but make one mistake and you could see yourself tumbling out of competition.

Following on from a dominating performance at Round 1, Prodrift Academy driver Alan Hynes would once again lay down the gauntlet and command a strong lead at the top of qualifying with a 96.5 point run heading into battles.

Ottawa Motorsports Park really brought out the best in the driver grid with insane battles right from the Top 32 right through the finale. On numerous occasions, nothing could separate drivers forcing judges to send them once again in a OMT (one more time).

Round 1 winner Alan Hynes was storming towards making it a perfect double-round victory before being abruptly stopped in his tracks by Serban Matei in a hard-fought battle at the Top 4 stage. The Prodrift Academy drivers day was not over though as Hynes would continue to take 3rd place on the podium.

But it was still to be a Prodrift Academy driver on the top step of the podium as teammate, UK drifter, Rhys Tatterson would follow through and get the win against Serban Matei in the final taking the win at Round 2 of the 2021 DMVC.

With 2 rounds in the history books, the one takeaway from the season coming up to the halfway point is the standard of driving in the virtual world really is unrivalled with DMVC right at the cusp. With less than 2 weeks ago until Round 3, a fresh crop of drivers must be ready to go to war on March 13th to make their mark on DMVC.
