Welcome to the biggest season of European drifting ever – Welcome to the 2022 Drift Masters European Championship!

After 2 years of COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the landscape of competitive drifting in Europe, Drift Masters GP is today delighted to announce that with light now firmly at the end of the tunnel, the Drift Masters European Championship (DMEC) will return for its first full 6-round 6-country season since 2019, which is already well and truly set to be the craziest and most exciting season of competitive drifting Europe has ever seen.
With so many of our incredible fans and drivers patiently waiting for the day when we can finally get back on track, we needed to ensure that once we could do so, we could pull out all the stops to make this season not only the most adrenaline-fuelled, entertainment-filled season we’ve ever pieced together, but also the most competitive season DMEC has ever seen, which of course meant assembling the best driver grid to date … but more on that later.

Thanks, as always, to the immeasurable support from our series partners, local promoters and media partners, we are delighted to be able to present the most exciting season in European drift history. New countries, the re-birth of stadium circuits and returning fan-favourites will play host to the most competitive action ever witnessed worldwide. Drivers from over 25 countries will compete for the crown of the 2022 Drift Masters European Championship winner.
The patience our incredible DMEC fans worldwide have shown over the past 2 years is to be admired, and now it’s time to reward that patience with action like nothing ever witnessed before.
Now the thing we want to know is, will you be there to witness the madness?

The 2022 Drift Masters European Championship
Round 1 – Ireland • Mondello Park – May 7-8
For the most insane season ever attempted by DMEC, we must start at one of most insane drift tracks anywhere in Europe, which sees DMEC 2022 start in Ireland’s Mondello Park. Home to some of European drifting’s most incredible memories, Mondello Park’s original “Japfest” layout features a high-speed run-in, various elevation changes and everything else needed to make sure the drivers are door-on-door from start to finish. Expect fireworks when Drift Masters returns to Ireland for the first time in years in front of 10,000+ adoring DMEC fans.

Round 2 – Austria • PS Racing Center – Jun 18-19
Having had some time to tidy their machinery after the madness of Mondello, next up our DMEC driver grid travels to the fast, technical, and challenging PS Racing Center in Greinbach, Austria. With changes to the track in 2021 already making the circuit more challenging and competitive than ever before, more upgrades all around the venue means our Austrian return will be sure to have fans screaming so loud they’ll be heard all across the continent.

Round 3 – Sweden • Drivecenter Arena AB – July 1-2
For the first time in our history, the Drift Masters European Championship will pack its bags and head for Scandinavia as we hit the road for the Drivecenter Arena AB in Sweden. Having only opened its doors for the very first time in 2019, this brand new circuit is not only new to the DMEC calendar but will be new to almost all of our DMEC driver grid. With this making sure we have the most incredibly even playing field to round-out the first half of the season, expect our drivers to give it 110% as they aim to top the points standings going into the final 3 rounds.

Round 4 – Latvia • Bikernieku Trase – July 29-30
It’s Riga baby! It will come as no surprise that the most famous drift event in the world returns once again in 2022 and nobody will be unhappy with that. As always, fans can expect an extreme full-throttle layout, crazy parades and all the mayhem a European drift event should contain. Couple that with talk of the biggest after-party Riga has ever seen, and you’ve got a recipe for what might just top the list of the craziest drift events Europe has seen to date. This one is going to be truly insane.

Round 5 – Germany • Ferropolis / Iron Drift King – August 19-20
Thought we forgot about Germany’s incredible “City of Iron”? Think again! For the penultimate round of DMEC 2022, we return to the madness of the Iron Drift King event in Ferropolis’ open-air colosseum, where our DMEC drivers will push harder than ever in front of the possibly the craziest backdrop of any drift event anywhere in the World, to see who will take one step closer to becoming the 2022 Drift Masters European Champion at our season finale.

Round 6 – Poland • Moto Arena Łódź – September 30-October 1
After the Kazimierz Górski Stadium in Płock and Torún’s Speedway Stadium were permanently placed in the DMEC history books, it may have appeared that the days of a stadium event in Drift Masters were over, but we’re delighted to announced that in 2022 a stadium event returns to the DMEC calendar. For our season finale, we will be heading to the Moto Arena in Łódź, where a custom-built circuit will be constructed to make sure the 2022 title fight goes down to the absolute wire. With our previous 5 rounds already pushing our drivers and their machinery to near breaking-point, our season finale will prove that to become a champion, one driver must push harder than they ever though possible to have their name engraved on the Drift Masters European Championship trophy.

Now that you’ve heard about all the insane action that 2022 holds for our DMEC drivers and fans, we hope you are all as excited as we are to kick off DMEC 2022. We most certainly intend on making up for lost time with these incredible events and as always, all rounds will be free to watch exclusively on Red Bull TV, with a further wave of digital and presentation upgrades coming your way, meaning if you can’t make it along in person, you’ll be treated to the most high-quality broadcast drifting has ever seen to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
With the when and the where now firmly set, our attention now turns to the “who”. Ready to find out who will compete to become the DMEC 2022 series champion? We’ve got more coming on that very soon, so make sure you stay tuned to our website and social media channels for plenty more news, updates and releases coming ahead of the start of the season.
